THE RANT

Since there is such little time and so many movie, we will no doubt miss out on a quite a few.
So as we can't critique them we would like to invite you the reader to review them.
Talk about any movie that we have NOT critiqued already.
Whether it be an old film on VHS or an new upcoming film, say whatever you feel.
Feel free to congratulate or berate, debate or debrief, question or challenge, mock or insult, this is for you the reviewer.

Also this is a chance for you to say anything about us at SLFC. What you like/don't like about us...say it all.

Your thoughts are important to us and we want to hear them!

Why even bother with smut like Speed Racer, Caspian etc... All hogwash and a total load of crap. I mean is this really what the general public is clammering for???? Come on. I need to get the reviewers attention to probably the most amazing love story since Harold and Maude...R A M B O! ! ! ! Not First Blood, not First Blood part II (Should have been called "Blood anone going for Seconds"), and not amazingly original Rambo III, just plain and simple R A M B O! ! ! ! The sheer plethora (excuse the pun) of emotions evoked by Sly's performance moved me to a single tear...followed by many more and some wretching

I would love to see what rating a class act like the S.L.F.C. would give a movie that has scored a booming 7.5 on imdb (counting approx 45000 votes)

Implement half coconuts. When I saw you guys give Iron Man (that compensating super hero), 5 coconuts a little puke came up. 4.5 coconuts I can forgive the biases of the reviewers.

lol, i think i may have enjoyed RAMBO as much as Olivier did...it was the best COMEDY i have seen in years.
The story was so simple and plain...i felt like it was regurgitated out of the 80s. As for stallone, he has buffed up but his face has now take the look of BURNT LEATHER!
The imdb ratting is 'shocking' to say the least, who are these people?Even Al Qaeda in their rat caves thought this was shit!

as OZ mentioned we are in the process of putting the HALF COCONUT rating. It has been difficult on many films to find a balance between the five.
Lol...sorry for the vomit induce..but IRONMAN was awesome!
You may be right though,...4.5 COCONUTS may have been more appropriate.
After all what am i going to give THE DARK KNIGHT when it comes out:)

I just saw THE BUCKET LIST.

If i wanted to see a comedy about 2 geriatrics complaining about life i'd rent GRUMPY OLD MEN again.

This was a movie that simply let Jack play ANOTHER rich, old, lonely, sarcastic fart that was just imitating past similar characters he's played before.
As for Morgan Freeman, it's apparent he LOVES the sound of his OWN voice cause YES, he's NARRATING this movie as well! Of course he's playing a know-it-all-life-experienced poor man!

It was a cliched movie with no heart!

Ok The Dark Knight was OKAY, but it wasnt that good. All those coconuts is just one too many in my opinion.
When someone said it was the "best film in its genre" I was appalled, respectfully speaking, the person in question has probably not seen many movies period.
Heath Ledger for one acted well, but not fabulously amazing as most people find themselves thinking. The fact that he died not too long before the movie came into the theatres, sensationalized the whole movie and gave it that extra publicity edge, if I may. Its almost sad. The Joker character in itself would have demanded some form of insanity from WHOEVER took the role on. Sorry, just my opinion. Love Christian Bale though, didnt go wrong there. I dont know what was going on with Maggie Gyllenhaal - she was crap and I was thrilled she died. She made me wish for Katie Holmes - and that is bad.
Here's to hoping the next film in the Batman Franchise wont disappoint. Would it be too much to have Tim Burton direct it?

SLUMDOG MILLIONAIRE

I actually like this movie, very nice and a little touching. But that's where it ends.
one of the most overrated movies to win best picture.

the quality of the movie.

I have a RFR (request for review) for you guys. The Watchmen. I watched it last week and was completely surprised. I loved the story and the originality of the comic. Granted the acting wasn't the best however the actors playing Rorshack and The Comedian were absolutely brilliant. Even if you guys don't review I highly recommend this movie to comic fans...but remember this isn't a Spiderman blockbuster...it's much more than that.

PS There is even an extermely long, misplaced love scene in the movie so you can quickly re-fill your drinks and get some more popcorn.

Thank you Olivier for comment. Unfortunately we have not been able to watch WATCHMEN(pun intended). We have been focusing on more Sri Lankan films lately.
But as a comic fan myself i'm glad the graphic novel has finally come to life. The trailers and the reviews have been good we will probably do it soon.

I feel free to review any movie you have seen on the rant section as well. I also recommend THE INTERNATIONAL. Despite a boring trailer the movie was quite an adult thriller.
